Tomatillo salsa Verde

Ingredients

Tomatillos (1 pound), husked

Finely chopped onion (1/2 cup)

Ground cumin (1/2 teaspoon)

Water (2 cups)

Minced garlic (1 teaspoon)

1 Serrano Chile peppers, chop up

Chopped cilantro (2 tablespoons)

Chopped fresh oregano (1 tablespoon)

Salt according to taste

Directions

Put onion, garlic, tomatillos, Chile pepper in a saucepan. Flavor with oregano, cilantro and salt, pour in water. Boil over medium high heat for about 10 to 15 minutes and then reduce to medium low until tomatillos are gently cooked.

Carefully make a puree of tomatillo with water in batches using a blender until smooth.
